Hi, 
 
If I understand correctly, SP6 replaces alot of DLLs from my computer. 
 
If I deploy my program using InstallShield without the new DLLs, will my 
 
program still run in my customers' computers?  Hmm... let's make it "happy 
 
paying customes".  ;) 
 
OTOH, even if I deploy my program along with the new DLLs, will the windows' 
 
file protection thingie prevent InstallShield to update those DLLs?

Let me preface by saying I am completely new to Sourcesafe. =/ 
 
I was using VSS 2K5 with VB6. I had my .vbp (project) file checked out, 
 
and my frmMain checked out. I spent about an hour and a half working on 
 
alot of things, saving locally often, but never checking the files into 
 
VSS. 
 
Then I made a change that I didn't like and wanted to revert to a 
 
previous version. I'm new to VSS and wasn't sure how to do this, but I 
 
figured that since I'd saved locally even if ...

Yesterday my last programmer left my project so now I'm just down to me. No 
 
one wants to work on vb6 anymore! I'm only on the project 2 days a week 
 
myself because I don't want to do vb6 either. It's getting to the stage that 
 
it needs to be upgraded to dotnet just to keep the programmers.

I have been trying to set user's properties for AD accounts and have made it 
 
pretty far. But now I have an error that I can't find an answer too. Here is 
 
my code. The problem is that in my ModifyUserProperties Sub the Term 
 
GetDirectoryEntry says Directory Entry cannot be indexed because it has no 
 
default property. Does anyone have any idea as I am at a deadend.

On the desktop you can drag and drop files to a CD-R, and XP will take care 
 
the rest for you. 
 
How do I do this with VB6? 
 
"FileCopy" to a CD-R doesn't seem to work.

I want to save data into a binary file using VB6 and then read it back 
 
using C/C++. The data I am saving consists of rows of a User Defined 
 
Type (i.e. UDT) 
 
I have two questions: 
 
1). Is it possible to write this data to a binary file in VB. If yes, 
 
please show an example of how this data may be saved to a binary file 
 
2). I want to read this data from the file, back to C structures - can I

I am trying to write a section of code in VB6 that gives me the audio level 
 
of the output from a sound card. If I am using a Soundblaster this is very 
 
easy as I can use the MIXERCONTROL_CONTROLTYPE_PEAKMETER. But not all sound 
 
cards have this. 
 
I have seen some code which looks at the level on the input by checking 
 
samples and I can see that this makes the concept independent of the H/W 
 
which is what I need. 
 
I cannot see how to get at the output samples before they hi ...

I am using Response object in vb.net to download an excel sheet with

It worked well and I could download excel file with data. But suddenly 
 
It started downloading only blank excel sheet. even though the data 
 
exists. Do I need to do any refreshing? or do I need to re-start IIS?

I am new to VB dot net 2003. 
 
I am trying to create a Crystal Report within an application. 
 
When I try to debug the report I keep getting an error that states 
 
"Visual Studio cannot debug because the debug target 
 
'C:\....\WindowsApplication1.exe' is missing. Please build the project 
 
and retry". 
 
I don't know why I get this error or what to do about it. It may be the 
 
simplest of things but I am very new at VB.

down to 1000. 
 
If INT(1000.51), it will round it up to 1001. 
 
Is this a bug or is this normal?

I am facing problem in debugging the COM object (dll) developed in VB6. It 
 
is also using ASPTypeLibrary.ScriptingContext.  During debugging whenever I 
 
try to call the method of ASP object, for example "Request" etc. it gives me 
 
error that 
 
"Application called interface that was marshalled for a different thread". 
 
Please advise how to debug in this case.

If no, are the events queued? - or do they simply go "missing". If this 
 
is the latter case, it is a potential source of memory leaks especially 
 
if (ptrs to C structures etc) are being passed as parameters in the event.
