Network card & IP address
Currently I have 2 NICs installed in my server (Chicago), I have configured
one NIC for local network IP address (10.90.10.x) and the other one with
backup IP address (172.10.10.x).
From the command prompt in Chicago server, I can ping to both IP addresses
without any problems. However, when I ping to the server hostname - Chicago,
it will reply with backup IP (172.10.10.x) instead of network IP
(10.90.10.x). Even I created the new entry "Chicago 10.90.10.x" in local
hosts ...

Hi!
We have a problem....
We want to control where the computer accounts are generated so we ask
for
this and store it in the MACHINEOU attribute, the Directory Services

that is. When this information is submitted (in the CUSTOM.OSC file),
the
RIS server responds:
The server SERVERNAME cannot convert the information provided !!!

Anyone has a solution?
Thanks

RIS
Will be deploying about 50 copies of XP Pro. Using 2003 Std as Domain
controller for RIS. I have about 50 individual OEM copies of the xp
software each with unique keys.
How do I use RIS to maintain unique keys on 50 different machines and then
go about Activating with MS?
Also, what if I must redploy a messed up users desktop with RIS and I have
already activated a particular copy, what then?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

New RIS Server
Hi group !
Hi am in the process of shuting down my old win2000 server
(running RIS) and power on my new win2003 box.
I successfully migrated AD and all the stuff, but I don't know how
to move my RIS installation.
I copied my installation image and my osc files to the new server,

installation disk to create a new image.
I don't want to do this though, I just want to use my old image !
How can I tell RIS where its ...

Which DHCP..
Hi,
A friend of mine has got problems with his RIS setup. Some time ago their
network management was transferred from local to a centralized domain, and
from that moment his workstations requesting network boot DHCP times out
because they apparently never find theRIS server.
Does it exist a config file or any possibility to specify which IP address
the clients must connect to to find the RIS images..?
Thanks for hints on how to solve this problem ;-)
best regards

IE Trusted Sites empty after unattended install
I have a problem where Dell servers (PE 1750 and 1950 so far) complete
an automated Windows Server 2003 SP1 Standard build without any entries
in the IE trusted sites while VMware servers have it populated
correctly.
They are both using the same answer file but I am guessing some driver
that Dell is loading is deleting these values.
I notice this on first startup when trying to run WindowsUpdate. Since
this web site is not on the list, it doesn't run correctly.

To pick winning stocks, you need the tools to separate
