Previous Thread:   Year to date target values

6/2/2006 3:57:42 PM    Cannot connect to data source
In Business Scorecard Manager builder on my laptop, I am trying to create a

new ODBC data source.

I click test connection and am getting the following error:

---------------------------

Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Builder

---------------------------

The Business Scorecard Manager server could not connect to the data source.

Verify that all of the required data has been entered in the boxes and that

the connection information is correct.

---------------------------

OK

---------------------------

I confirmed that when I use the same data source string with the Builder

directly on the Scorecard Server (different machine, same domain) I can test

successfully.

I believe it has something to do with the App Pool which is defaulted to

Network Service account. There are 2 Scorecard Web Services on the machine.

Please walk me through a fix if possible. What happens when I have 10

different ODBC data sources with different credentials, not necessarily

using NT authentication? Why doesn't Excel even work?

thanks,

Andrew

You might want to use a domain account, which has permissions to the Excel,

for IIS AppPool. If it still does not work, please include the connection

string you are using.
