Getting the System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x8007203B) error when trying to do AD authentication

This "usually" means that the windows account that your IIS app pool is running under doesn't have permission to use the COM dll you are attempting to use.

When you run your code in Visual Studio .NET, it runs under your windows account not one in IIS (unless you specifically configure it this way).

You are going to have to figure out which COM dll and/or its dependencies you need access to and grant it the appropriate rights.

I have installed windows longhorn, I'm trying to install IIS, and I'm getting lots of errors in the installation of the http and security, the only portion that is installed is the FTP.
