ASP.NET - set and get single value from cookies in javascript for my situation

hi all
im working in asp.net/ c# web dev
i want to use cookies client side for storing a single value ...
i.e.)
currently i using this following code to get and set cookies ...but it was returning the previously assigned cookies

my problem is when i set the cookies by using setSelectedMenu(str)
the cookie is setting properly
but when i retrieving the cookie by using getSelectedMenu()...the cookie is returning the wrong result ie..) previous setted cookies not current one..

please advice me

Try this

First, we create a function that stores the name of the visitor in a cookie variable:

function setCookie(c_name,value,exdays)
{
var exdate=new Date();
exdate.setDate(exdate.getDate() + exdays);
var c_value=escape(value) + ((exdays==null) ? "" : "; expires="+exdate.toUTCString());
document.cookie=c_name + "=" + c_value;
}

The parameters of the function above hold the name of the cookie, the value of the cookie, and the number of days until the cookie expires.

In the function above we first convert the number of days to a valid date, then we add the number of days until the cookie should expire. After that we store the cookie name, cookie value and the expiration date in the document.cookie object.

Then, we create another function that returns a specified cookie:
