Where can I download MS SQL Server 2000?
Cheryl Hokanson posted at Thursday, May 21, 2009 12:49 PM

In my ignorance I removed the SQL server program from my computer.  I'm learning about the 'upsizing to SQL Server' option in my Access 2003 program and need to download this program to proceed.  Can you tell me where to download a replacement SQL Server and what I'm looking for when I get there?  Does it have to be the 2000 version or will a more recent one work?

Grateful for you help.

Hi

I think Sql server 2000 server currently off version. that means there is no more support to Sql Server 2000.but you can use the SQL server 200 MSDE version to download that

thank you

You would require a MSDN Subscription to get a licensed copy of SQL Server 2000.

In case that is not possible your only option could be the less functional Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000)  - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=413744d1-a0bc-479f-bafa-e4b278eb9147&displaylang=en

You can find tools that can help you manage and administer Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000) here  - http://www.microsoft.com/sql/partners/msde.mspx

I downloaded MSDE2000A and my son got it to run but said my Access 2003 was probably to outdated and wouldn't recognize it.

Thanks for your effort anyway.
