I'm using Excel 2007 and I want to shade values in column AB if they are less than values in column W in their corresponding rows. I can do this with Conditional Formatting of course, but I would have to do this with each individual cell. How can I get around this?
Please help!
Thanks...

Add the conditional formatting you want to just one cell in the AB column. Make sure you use a relative reference (no $) for at least the row numbers in the range references in your formula, e.g.:

Formula is      =AB1<W1

and create the format (Patterns color).

Then Copy that cell, and Paste Special, Formats to the other cells in column AB.

If you set the first cell with the c.f  that you want, you can then use the format painter (double-clicked) and then click on the column header AB. That should take care of it. Just make sure that the rule leaves off the $ on the row number.
