Microsoft Excel - IP address validation in Excel

Hi,

I want to restrict values in a cell in such a way that, only valid IP addresses can be entered.

I have read a solution on the same site, but it does not work properly.

Try this formula with the Data Validation option in the Data menu -
=AND((LEN(A1)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(A1,".","")))=3,ISNUMBER(SUBSTITUTE(A1,".","")+0))

Choose Custom from the Validation Criteria dropdown in the Data Validation dialog box
