Will I face and issues when using Visual Studio .NET 2003 to build an application that will access a database on SQL Server 2005?  I have heard conflicting views on this.

You can connect an application written in VS 2003 to SQL Server 2005 as long as you don't try to use any of the new datatypes.  On the other hand, the meta-data of SQL Server 2005 is very different than SQL Server 2000 so the VS designers that read the meta data to discover the structure of the database will not work.
