XP loads fine, but when I try to open an application, I get a dialogue box system restore, but it doesn't load properly either. I have also tried to reinstall XP, but I can't get the launch application to work. Windows XP Performance Discussions NET Framework 1.1 (1) NET Framework 2.0 (1) Windows XP (1

validate Windows XP Windows 7 Hello, I recently purchased a used computer from a private party with Win. XP professional installed. I was assured it was a legitimate version of Windows. I got online and tried to update Windows with the latest service packs and during install of SP2 got a message that my it would not install. I wondered what my options are to get my copy of Windows updated. I would really like to do this for security and compatibility reasons. Thanks in advance. J.
