Hello~
I was wondering if someone can help me out with this situation.
I'm looking for a macro for ms word, where I can basically auto bold, underline and put squiggly brackets on a word I select and push a hotkey.
For example, selecting the word "farm":
The man went to the farm to grow some crops. ==> The man went to the {farm} to grow some crops.

i didn't get what do you mean, do you want assign a Word command or macro to a hot-key? then do this things
1. Choose Customize on the Tools menu, then click Keyboard...
2. In the Categories list, choose either “All Commands” or “Macros”, as appropriate.
3. In the list on the right, choose a command or macro.
4. Enter a key combination in the space provided.
5. Before clicking Assign, look where it says “currently assigned to”, and make sure you are not about to reasign a really useful shortcut!
6. Also before clicking Assign, select the template where you want the assignment to be stored.
7. Click Assign, then Close.
8. Hold the Shift key down and select File + Save All, to save your changes to the template.

Thanks Anoop S for your help, but I'm still having problems.
Let me clarify my issue.
I would like to be able to select any word on a word document and simply press a hotkey to format it into the following:
BOLDED, UNDERLINED, and surrounded by CURLY BRACKETS
For example, here's a sample sentence:
The dog jumped on the speeding car.
I would like to be able to select a word, such as "speeding" and change the format as following simply by using a hotkey without going throught the tedious process of inserting a curly bracket, then underlining it and then finally bolding it:
The dog jumped on the {speeding} car.
I tried using the "RECORDING" function on the macro, but it does not take into account the differences in the letter count for different words.
Any help would be great!

How did you select the word? Did you click and drag? Have you tried double clicking for the word instead? VB looks at that slightly differently. You could also use the ctrl + shift + right arrow to help word identify that it is a word you're looking for. You do this for the recording and then all you will need to do afterwards is click once In the word, not before it, not after it, just in the word. You also select a keyboard shortcut for the macro during the creation process as per the Annop's recommendation. Then all you do is click once and then use the keyboard shortcut and you're done. Depending on the version you can setup Ctrl + 7, Ctrl +8 or Ctrl + 9.
Hope this helps
