follow these steps-
1
Open Microsoft Word, click the "File" tab and click "Open." Navigate to the Word document to number and double-click the file name, which opens in a new Word window.
2
Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the screen. Click the "Page Number" button on the toolbar/ribbon below the tab. Hover your cursor over the menu items to view options such as page numbers for the top of the page or bottom of the page.
3
Click a sub-menu item, such as "Accent Bar 1" and the page number is automatically added to the page and a new "Header & Footer Tools" tab and toolbar open at the top of the page. Scroll through the document to ensure that the number is in place on every page.
4
Highlight the word "Page" and retype over it with your own preference, such as "PP," "Pg" or just delete it entirely.
5
Highlight the page number itself and any text, click the "Home" tab at the top of the screen and change the way the number appears using the "Font" section of the toolbar, such as the text size, text color and font. This is an ideal way to fade the number off the page, using a gray text color, so it doesn't compete with the black text of the Word document.
6
Click the red "X" "Close Header and Footer" icon on the toolbar to get out of the page number editor and return to your document. To edit the page number at any time, just double-click it and this toolbar will re-open.
hope this will help you.
