Does anybody know the exact impact of the Post excl. transaction type check  
  
box on the production order parameters?  Any documentation or knowledge is

This parameter specifies whether posting type needs to be set in the ledger  
  
voucher when production journals are being posted.  
  
You can see it in Production orders\Inquiries\Production
