Previous Thread:   Global Address book

9/12/2005 12:01:55 PM    Still need to sync public folders - anyone have an answer please?
I have the Samsung-SCH I730 (2003 v2) and they work great with my Exchange

2003 Enterprise SP1 server with SSL.

I really would like to aWireless Sync a Public Folder of Contacts.

Looked at software to do that in the cradle, so I have to turn off wireless

Syncing of Contacts, and enable cradle sync of Contacts + Public folder

Contacts (Lumps them together.... grumble) Now when ever I force wireless

sync to happen - it's looking for the PC on the USB.

Any real solutions for this??

Does ActiveSync 4.0 do this? I have version 3.8 on my PC. I want to do it

all WIRELESSLY. Is the Exchange 2003 sp2 going to let me sync public foders

please???!

Thanks much.

Eric

No. This is not a function of ActiveSync or Exchange, it is a function

of the Pocket PC/Windows Mobile design. There is only ONE contact

database and until MS rewrites WM to have multiple contact databases

anything that allows this will be a 3rd party app with its own

databases like Pocket OnSchedule - http://www.odysseyinc.com/ (and

that won't sync wirelessly with anything that I know of - or some form

of scripting that combines public folder contents into your main

contact databse segregating via categories.
