Hi,

I became crazy. I can't syncronize a QTEK PocketPc with an Exchange 2003.

My Exchange FreontEnd server: Windows 2003 SP1, Exchange 2003 SP1 (OWA, OMA

working fine, HTTPS access only with SSL and using form based)

My Exchange BackEnd server: Windows 2003 SP1, Exchange 2003 SP1

Client: XP SP2, ActiveSync 3.2

Qtek PocketPC, Windows mobile 2003 2nd edition.

The exchange server had the OMA, OWA ... all option activated.

When I plug the PPC on the base, i asked for a partnership relation, then

ask for an exchange server syncronization. For the exchange server i put

https://my.FQDN/exchange, check the SSL box and enter the

user/password/domain information.

The PPC can't syncronize, I get an error "error 0x80004005: can't

syncronize. If the problem persists, reinit your PPC".

Where did I made a mistake? how can i test to syncronize the PPC with the BE

server in first time, the FR server in second time? Did I forget an option,

forget to install à part in the exchange server?

Thank's for the help

Thierry

The error you are receiving is pretty generic. I would first change the

server name from https://my.FQDN/exchange to simply my.FQDN .

I would also try to see if OWA works and if it does then you will have to

turn on some logging on the server end to see why this happens.

Hi,

If i take IE and just put my.FQDN as the address, i've got an error 403.4

"this page requires SSL".

if i connect via HTTPS://my.FQDN, I just had the standard page "under

construction" of IIS. I used to enter https://my.FQDN/exchange to connect to

the exchange OWA page.

In case of using a PocketPC, have I got to made the page my.FQDN/exchange

the default page of my.FQDN address (so if i use IE and put my.FQDN in the

address bar, i'll have the Exchange login web page)??

Regards,

Thierry

it has to be just the FQDN on your PocketPC (and a check for using SSL or

not). You can not use /exchange on the end, it will not work. Now, the

second problem is your Exchange server is not configured correctly since the

root https://my.FQDN gives the "under construction" page. You need to change

it to redirect to a subdirectory and add /exchange. Finally, you need to

make sure you have NTLM and Basic auth rights in the right places:

OMA Basic

Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync Basic

Exchange Basic and NTLM
