Previous Thread:   IP4 over LAN - strange behavior

12/13/2005 2:36:05 PM    localhost, 127.0.0.1 broken again in WM5
I was testing WM5 and I found connecting to 127.0.0.1 doesnt work anymore

(neither internet explorer nor a sample wininet) and instead localhost works

when the device is not cradled, but if it is cradled it doesnt work again.

The fix suggested in

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnppcgen/html/migration_developers_faq.asp

"What do I need to do to make my Pocket PC resolve "localhost" correctly?"

also doesnt help...

Any ideas...windows cenet team?

Have you installed that fix on a WM5 device? I think it was only meant for

PocketPC 2003 devices. If you have it on already, could you try

uninstalling it and seeing if you have better luck? I know that PIE is

broken connecting to 127.0.0.1 but I thought localhost worked in all

scenarios (I hadn't heard complaints at least). Our apologies for this

continued issue.

Please note I'll be out for Christmas break starting tomorrow and won't be

back for a few weeks, so understand any responses I would make to this would

be delayed.
