Is it possible to automatically load a PowerPoint file from within another

PowerPoint file?

Here's the scenario: I'm running a number of linked slides from the internet

and want to have an initial "splash" powerpoint file that loads quickly,

while the reader is viewing this intro information I want the main PowerPoint

file to load automatically with no user action required.

Thanks for any suggestions! Please send a copy of your reply post to

This may depend on how you're posting your slides to the net. Are they uploaded

as PPT/PPS files or after converting them to HTML?

If the former, I don't think there's any way to do what you're after, though you

might break the presentation up into several smaller PPT files, one linked to

the next, so that none of them is exceptionally large.

If you don't need animation, I have a commercial add-in that does PPT to HTML

conversions and allows you to set things up such that while the user is viewing

Slide 1, it's downloading and caching the image for Slide 2 behind the scenes;

when they advance to Slide 2, it's almost instantaneous (and immediately starts

downloading the image for Slide 3).

See http://ppt2html.pptools.com for more info and a free fully functional demo.

Here's an example of what I just described (ignore all the links at the bottom

of the page ... they're optional and easily deleted if not wanted):
