Hi

PowerPoint 2003 has just started giving me a persistent error message: "Set

profiles first, please", occasionally interspersed with another: "Server

busy" (this is on a self contained laptop- no server). I can't find any

reference to these error messages in the MS Knowledge Base. Have tried a

Detect and Repair on PowerPoint, but no change. Has anyone come acorss this

issue, and figured out a fix?

sshall

see

As mentioned in the google thread Taj linked to, if you choose a profile once, it

shouldn't bother you again. The profile's never used until you convert the

presentation for onscreen use, so this is probably the best solution if you intend to

use the addin from time to time.

You can also locate the PPA file for the addin and rename it to e.g. .PPB extension

to disable it (this while PPT is NOT running, please!)

There should be no need to uninstall it totally.

Unless you don't use it, in which case there's no much point to having it installed

;-)
