Previous Thread:   Adding OMG music files to a presentation

9/28/2005 9:38:27 AM    Cannot download animtech.exe
I have PowerPoint 2002 SP3 installed which I am learning to use.

I was referred to

http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/animtechnqs.aspx but it will not

let me download animtech.exe. From googling some newslists I am guessing it

is because I do not have PP2000 installed.

I am sure it will run in PP 2002 if I can somehow download it. Is there a

way to download it without having PP 2000 (which I do not have) installed?

Thanks.

Jeff,

Installing this has nothing to do with whether or not you have PowerPoint

2000. In fact, when you "install" this, all it does is unpack a

PowerPoint presentation that shows you some advanced things you can do

with animation. As Ute said, many of these things are much easier to do

in the newer versions of PowerPoint in other ways, but they are still

neat tricks, and you can't really do them any other way in 2000. Perhaps,

you have some virus protection or firewall that is preventing you from

downloading a .exe. I just downloaded it and "installed" it without any

problem, and I have PowerPoint 2003.

not

it

Jeff,

I think, you don't need that file. It describes how to fake sophisticated

animations with PPT 2000. But animation has improved a lot in PPT 2002 (and

2003).

Have a look at the training courses for the newer versions of Office:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/CR061832731033.aspx

Best regards,

Ute
