9/29/2005 2:04:05 PM    Music won't play using 2003 Viewer
Recently downloaded the 2003 viewer to play PP 2000 presentations but the

wave files that are in the presentation will not play in the 2003 viewer.

Have tried deleting the files and re-attaching or using MP3 but that doesn't

work either. Also, some of my animated graphics flip upside down in the 2003

viewer. Have tried deleting those and re-attaching but they still animate

upside down. I am ready to invest in PP 2003 but need to be sure my current

presentations will act prperly when opened in PP 2003.

Can anybody HELP?

The problem with music files is a known bug in the Viewer. It only occurs if

the presentation was created in PowerPoint 2000 or 97. It has supposedly been

fixed in Service Pack 2, but I haven't had a chance to test it. You can also

use the PowerPoint 97 Viewer instead, because it plays the music just fine.

The flipped object problem is also a known problem and there is a fix available.
