Previous Thread:   RE Random Reboot of SBS 2003

1/9/2006 5:29:40 AM    Domain Client keeps losing trust with Domain
Hi,

I have a problem where by after a server recovery the client machines

were not re-added to the domain server correctly and the users were

prompted to login several times before finally being accepted to log

on.

I have now resolved this by removing and re-adding them to the domain

however one particular client randomly stops talking to the domain and

keeps prompting user for user name and password during things like

explorer etc.

Now I cannot find anything in the logs, before there were netlogon logs

but now nothing the only thing I have noticed is tha tthe computer with

the issue plus another that does not show any problems no longer appear

under computers in Server Managment where as when I re-added them they

were there.

Looks like they have dropped off the domain but why? Only thing I can

think of is re-adding the machines to the domain again but I do not

want to keep doing this as should have rectified last time I did it?

Any help would be most grateful.

Many Thanks

Matt

Yeah I did do that last time as I tried it without and it did not work

unless you did remove from the domain. So have removed in AD and

re-added and all was good for about 2-3 weeks.

So for example I re-added 3 Comps to domain and they are fine now only

1 is left and the other two seem to be gone yet 1 still works ok and

the other is giving me all the connectivity problems. I figure all I

can do is re-add them again? before i was getting netlogon errors in

the logs but this time nothing......

Thanks for the reply.

Good point, difficult to say as only 1 user uses this particular PC but

i would normally say the particular machine but you have raised an

interesting point which I will try - even though two machines have gone

only 1 user reports problems not the other.

I had this issue once, but not after a system restore. I ended un

disjoining the client from the domain, removing the computer account via

dsa.msc.

Then rejoined it via wizards and /connectcomputers.

Have you attempted to remove the client account totally before re-joining?

You said:

"however one particular client randomly stops talking to the domain and

etc."

Is it one user only on that is having the issue on the one client pc? If so

you may have a corrupt profile,I have seen these symptoms before when it was

a profile issue.
