Earn Money Answering Questions
Love participating in Microsoft forums? Why not get paid? Each month, EggHeadCafe pays cash bonus rewards to member forum posters like you. We allot $1,500 in total awards to be split amongst the top 20 posters. The top 20 posters receive a percentage of the $1,500 based on the percentage of points awarded to them versus the total points award to the top 20 posters. Posting credits are awarded by the forum moderators based on participation. Anyone can participate -- the only requirement is to sign up as an eggheadcafe.com member, which is free. All you need to do is post or
answer questions on any of our forum topics!
The following statistics show which members have the most messageboard posts considered by our moderators to add value to the web site. Details on what types of posts would likely not qualify as valuable can be found below in the rules section.

Programs or promotions that include a financial payout will be paid to the winners via
PayPal.com. Any winner who cannot accept payment via paypal forfeits their award. In order to receive payout, we will contact you at the end of the month to obtain your paypal email address (preferably the same email address you use here but it is not required).
The basic premise of what our moderators deem valuable revolves around overall value to the EggHeadCafe.com web site. This could be as simple as a post providing a direct answer or reasonable alternative to consider or additional content the moderators feel would be useful to others at a future date. So, the moderators are granted wide latitude in making their decision. Typically, a moderator assumes the post has value and looks for reasons to deny. Posts that provide an actual code solution, rather than just providing links to something offsite generally take precedence.
Robbe Morris and Peter Bromberg of EggHeadCafe have the ability to upgrade a thread to a "Tough Question". This enables the moderators to assign more than the typical maximum of 5 points per reply. The "Tough Question" upgrade can go as high as 50 points.

Member statistics are updated within 5 minutes of a post being granted or denied merit by a moderator. Moderators review posts every day to every couple of days in order to view a more complete forum thread before making their decisions.
Although there are exceptions to the following rules, these types of posts typically would not qualify:
Original posts in a thread. If it is clear that the post is related to a previous thread or perhaps the content of the post contains useful information not readily available elsewhere, it may be considered.
Posts by the original owner or other member that ask an additional question but contains no additional insight into answering the original question at hand. Posts of this nature that also contain useful information may be considered valuable.
Posts that contain duplication of previous information with no additional value especially if it is a part of the same thread.
Posts that are largely small talk.
Posts or series of posts that appear purposely broken up in order to increase member ranking.
Obvious abuse in an attempt to increase member ranking.
Posts that contain no insight on the issue at hand other than a series of links to resources. In most cases, these posts will not be granted merit. A brief and accurate description of the solution the original poster will find when visiting links must be included. Simply pasting the original poster's question in google and grabbing the first few links you find does not add value to eggheadcafe.
The following members are excluded from participation: Peter Bromberg, Robbe Morris and Dr. Dotnetsky.
