Problem Installing IIS on Win XP Pro

Chris Coops posted on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 9:53 AM

I have a feeling this is probably in the wrong place, but I have an
annoying problem trying to install IIS.

Basically, go through the normal steps, Add/Remove Programs > Add
Windows Components, select IIS but when the installation begins the
dialos says it's "Building file list" and just sits there! I've left
it for ages, but it doesn't change. It doesn't ask for the CD, or any
other installation location.

I'm sure it's not a problem with Add/Remove Windows Components because
I have removed MSN Explorer and reinstalled that with no problems,
didn't even ask for the CD.

Anyone got any ideas, or know if I can manually force the
installation?

Thanks
Chris
