Assuming WinXP SP2:
1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?
To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:
Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or
Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
add-ons).

(cross-post added to Vista General)
...
Or Vista? ; )
This is what I was curious about:
What kind of module is that? Who made it?

That particular module name is usually indicative of memory corruption.
It's really more of a failure class.

I have Vista.
1). Starting IE 7 with no add-ons does not fix.
2). Resetting IE 7 does not fix
3) Do you suggest that I uninstall IE7? (I am a little confused - it did not
come as a separate program - it came with Vista.)
Thanks

No. IE7 cannot be uninstalled in Vista.
Does this happen at every online shopping checkout page or just some/one?
If the latter, which ones?
Are all such pages Secure Sites (https://xxxxxxxxxx)? If so, do you
encounter this problem at all Secure Sites?
Are you running IE7 in Protected Mode?
If the following is the error message you're getting...
We are sorry for the inconvenience"

Try extracting the Stack Back Trace for the crashing thread from
drwtsn32.log. That will show you what other modules were involved
in that call.
Since the problem still occurs when No Add-ons mode is in effect
it is less likely that the symptom is being caused by a third-party program
but that possibility hasn't yet been completely eliminated. In order to do
that you would have to resort to clean-boot troubleshooting techniques.
Good luck

Bear,
I am experiencing this problem with IE7 crashing repeatedly with this "Internet Explorer has stopped working" message. I am using Vista Home Basic. This has only started today (for more than one user on my computer) since last night uninstalling McAfee Security Center and then installing McAfee Internet Security Suite 2007. I tried running IE without addons, using the Accessories->SystemTools->IE without Addons shortcut, and it worked better than IE WITH addons, but eventually after some five minutes, IE7 crashed again.
Then I tried the IE reset in Control Panel->Internet Options and this seems to work. But, do you know, does this mean that every time I try to use IE7 I will have to perform the reset first? I don't understand why running without addons (especially since McAfee installed two Browser Help Object addons and one Toolbar addon) did not solve my problem. Do you have any other insights?
Thanks
