setup MOSS site on file share - Sheil

Hi,

Recently we upgrade a IIS 6 website to MOSS 2007 site which is required to
map to a remote file share \\web\webshare$; it works after we copy the
necessary MOSS folders and web.config over.

However, after browsing a few (only) pages on the new server, the system
gives error "Parser Error Message: An error occurred loading a configuration
file: Failed to start monitoring changes to '\\web\webshare' because the
network BIOS command limit has been reached. For more information on this
error, please refer to Microsoft knowledge base article 810886. Hosting on a
UNC share is not supported for the Windows XP Platform".

I read through KB 810886 and search internet, all articles points to the
same solution which requires registry modification. But my question is why
the same configuration works on the old server without any changes on
registry; and the error occurs with only few (less than 10) connections to
the file share. Is it something to do with MOSS? and how to resolve it?

Thanks in advance.
