If it is TRULY compatible AND the newer driver supports it then yes, as
the real Intel 740 will go up to 1600x1200. Visit the manufacturers web
site for this "graphics adapter" and download and install the newer driver. |

I also have a widescreen monitor and need 1440 x 900
Though windows may install the video controller OK and it will work...
to get all possible resolution choices you do need to go to the Intel
website and get their drivers.
I am pretty sure that controller will do 1440 x 900 |

The drivers found on Intel's website are for Windows 9x and Windows 2000 and
the drivers I am using are already the ones found on Intel's website just
that these were included on the Windows XP installation. It seems that there
are no later drivers for Intel740 Compatible Graphics Adapter. If I use the
default VGA drivers used in safe mode, will I get 1440 x 900 and how do I
use the default drivers used in safe mode? |

The best thing to do is go to display properties...
settings...advanced...adaptor
then: list all modes
hopefully there will be a setting for 1440 x 900.
If there isn't...then you will have to install an AGP video card that can
support that resolution |
