Hi everyone,
i own a htc s710 wm6 smartphone (wm6 therefore no touch screen) with wifi i
have seen one or 2 apps working on WM5 that will allow you to use your
smartphone to browse your LAN, Is there any such program for my device?? Im
looking to make my desktop machine's shared drives visible from my phone so
that i can access my files from there when in range.
thanks for any help

Usually any WM5 program will run on WM6. Is there no "Open Path" command in
the device's native File Explorer menu like on touchscreen devices? On WM6
Pro devices you select Menu/Open Path then type the network path in
(\\server\share). I'd check my wife's 610 but she's out of town on
business, but I'm pretty sure I've copied files to her phone from a
networked PC.

Resco Explorer does this nicely on my current WM6 PPC device, and
although I can't personally vouch for it, I referred this app to a WM5
friend and he's got it working.

My friend claims he has a "smartphone" but didn't answer whether or not
he has a touch screen, and I don't entirely recall what device it is, so
he may have a PPC+phone (like I have)

Resco Explorer uses the underlying Windows Mobile functionality for
networking though, so if this is unavailable in the smartphone edition,
that might be the limiting factor.

but my phone has no backslash "\" key. i've tried a few demos of networking

Hi,
I've just been looking at Rescos explorer for smartphone, it seems that most
of the functionality is there however i cant get to any network places using
WIFI i only get the "ftp locations" section, is there any way to set it up
so that it uses the wifi for the activesync connection?
apart from not doing what i wanted however the resco explorer is a nice
piece of kit to have.

Yeah, you got me. My wife got home tonight and I checked her T-Mobile Dash
(HTC S610) and there's no network browsing capability whatsoever. Sorry!
