Office Home and Student 2007 trial on Vista Home Premium X64 - Bogey Man

Friday, April 18, 2008 4:00 PM

Has anyone successfully set-up this office trial software on Vista Home
Premium X64 so that UAC doesn't interfere?

I am the only user of this computer so there is only my account with
Administrator rights. I downloaded the trial software and installed it. The
first time that I tried to run Word and Excel there were messages indicating
that a configuration was taking place. In the end it failed with the message
that the software was not installed for this user and to run setup.

If I turn off UAC, the software runs flawlessly but, turning off UAC isn't a
good idea from all sources that I have come across.

I did get it running by selecting to run as Administrator in the properties
of the excel and word exe files. I still however get prompted by UAC if I
want to continue.

Any and all advice will be appreciated.
