Windows Media Center - John Meers

Saturday, May 31, 2008 10:20 AM

In doing an update to my start menu on Vista Ultimate I inadvertently
deleted the shortcut to the Windows Media Center.

I cannot find info to restore the shortcut. Can anyone tell me the path
needed?

Thanks. Search would not find it, but I created a shortcut to the path and
all OK
John

Start, key 'Media Center' in the start search text box. Right click on

If you want to do it manually, the path to Windows Media Center is
%SystemRoot%\ehome\ehshell.exe.

It seems odd to me that Search didn't find it. I suspect that indexing
is off? Go to Control Panel->System and Maintenance and select "Change
how windows searches" under Indexing Options.

Also, on the task bar, right click, Properties, Start Menu tab,
Customize button, scroll down to the 'Search files' section and make
sure that 'Search entire index' is selected. Also, make sure that

These two things should fix your searching and indexing problems.

You might also consider a System Restore, if you don't find things to
your satisfaction.
