Internet Explorer Icon Has Disappeared - patetc

My desktop icon for Internet Explorer is no longer visible and I can't seem
to get it back, even after reinstalling IE 7.  Therefore I don't have a link
for it.

Can anyone help?

IE7 / Firefox2/3 all stop working and display a white page
